My Blogs
At one point, I had three blogs that I developed and maintained. Currently, I only have one.
The goal of these sites has been to show people that living sustainably is possible no matter where you live. There are simple things that we can all do to have a positive impact on others and the environment.
Urban Organic Gardener
In the spring of 2009, I decided that I wanted to start growing food on my fire escape in New York City. A few weeks into the project, I realized that I should blog about the experience.
I mean why not? I had 10+ years of online marketing experience and knew what it would take to bring traffic to the site. There were also techniques and strategies that I wanted to try out that I was never able to in my corporate jobs.
A few weeks after delving into blogging and social media, I started to receive a little bit of coverage and notoriety.
Initially the blog started as a way to show people that growing your own food is possible no matter what your circumstances were. I mean, c’mon now, I was growing in the least likely of places.
Since the blog started, the goal of the site has shifted slightly to also touch on bringing awareness to people about their food choices and what goes on with our food and food systems.
This is the only blog that I currently maintain.
365 Ways To Go Green
From September 2009 – August 2010, I documented one simple green act a day.
The goal of this site was to show people that there are little things that they can do to have a positive impact on the environment. I wanted to empower people with ideas, hoping that they would employ at least some of them and a snowball effect would occur.
These blogs and I have been featured on the HGTV blog, MSN Money and more.
